About the Program
The Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) course is a two-year diploma program designed to train students in the fundamentals of nursing, midwifery, and community healthcare services. It emphasizes the development of essential skills required to assist in maternal and child health, basic patient care, and public health initiatives, especially in rural and underserved areas. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, the ANM program prepares compassionate and competent professionals ready to support primary healthcare systems and contribute to the well-being of communities.

Eligibility & requirements
Age Requirement:
- Candidates must be at least 17 years old and not more than 35 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission.
Educational Qualification:
- Applicants must have passed 10+2 with English as the medium of instruction from a recognized board (CBSE/ICSE/HSSCE or equivalent) in Science, Arts, Commerce, or Health Care Science streams, securing a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
- Candidates from State Open Schools or the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with English and Science subjects are also eligible.
Gender and Language Preference:
- Both female and male candidates are eligible for admission.
- Knowledge of Konkani or Marathi is desirable but not mandatory.
Reservation Policy:
- Disability Reservation: 3% reservation is available for candidates with locomotor disabilities ranging from 40% to 50% in the lower extremities. A committee consisting of a medical officer and a nursing expert will evaluate the eligibility of such candidates.
- SC/ST Candidates: A relaxation of 5% in the total marks is provided.
- Additional reservations apply as per the guidelines of the State Government.
Medical Fitness:
- All applicants must meet the medical fitness standards set for the program.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit self-attested photocopies of the following documents along with their application:
Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths.
12th Standard Marksheet and Passing Certificate from a recognized board.
School Leaving Certificate along with a certificate indicating the medium of instruction.
Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner.
Residence Certificate from the Mamlatdar of the concerned Taluka, confirming a minimum of 10 years of continuous residence in Goa prior to the application deadline.
Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants) issued by the Deputy Collector of the concerned jurisdiction.
Income and Assets Certificate for candidates applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, issued by the Mamlatdar of the respective Taluka.
Disability Certificate for candidates with physical disabilities, issued by the Medical Board at GMC Hospital Bambolim, Hospicio Hospital Margao, or North Goa District (Asilo) Hospital Mapusa. The certificate should clearly mention the nature and extent of disability (minimum 40%) and the candidate’s fitness to pursue the diploma program.
Intake & Seat Allocation
The total number of seats available for the R-ANM program is 40, with an additional 4 seats reserved under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota (10% of 40), bringing the total to 44 seats. A portion of these seats is reserved as per the following categories:
