Eligibility & requirements
Age Requirement:
- The minimum age for admission is 17 years as of 31st December of the admission year.
- The upper age limit is 35 years, except for ANM/LHV candidates, for whom there is no age restriction.
Educational Qualification:
- Completion of 10+2 with English and at least 40% marks in Science, Arts, Commerce, or Health Science streams from a recognized CBSE, State, or Central board.
- Candidates from State Open Schools or the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with English and Science subjects are also eligible.
- Registered ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) or LHV (Lady Health Visitor) candidates with passing marks are eligible.
Gender and Language Preference:
- Both female and male candidates are eligible for admission.
- Knowledge of Konkani or Marathi is desirable but not mandatory.
Reservation Policy:
- Disability Reservation: 3% reservation is available for candidates with locomotor disabilities ranging from 40% to 50% in the lower extremities. A committee consisting of a medical officer and a nursing expert will evaluate the eligibility of such candidates.
- SC/ST Candidates: A relaxation of 5% in the total marks is provided.
- Additional reservations apply as per the guidelines of the State Government.
Medical Fitness:
- All applicants must meet the medical fitness standards set for the program.
Required Documents
Applications must include self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
- Birth certificate from the Registrar.
- Passing certificate and mark sheet of the 12th Standard examination.
- School leaving certificate and a certificate indicating the medium of instruction.
- Medical fitness certificate from an authorized medical practitioner.
- Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) from the Deputy Collector for applicants belonging to these communities.
- Income and assets certificate from the Mamlatdar for applicants under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in Goa.
- Disability certificate from the Medical Board of GMC Hospital Bambolim, Hospicio Hospital Margao, or North Goa District Hospital (Asilo) Mapusa, confirming a disability of 40% or more and the candidate’s fitness to pursue the diploma.
- Residence certificate.
Intake & seat Allocation
The total number of seats available for the GNM program is 60, with an additional 6 seats allocated under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota (10% of 60), making the total intake 66 seats. A portion of these seats is reserved under the following categories:
